You could sit back and watch some of the finest scenery in West Yorkshire drift by while drinking a toast with one of the country’s award-winning Gins. Or you can indulge yourself with one of the UK’s finest culinary traditions, Afternoon Tea.

The Railway, whose five-mile route runs from the Aire Valley town Keighley up to the moorland village of Oxenhope, has re-introduced their highly successful ‘Gin Train’.

This service, which will be running on Friday, March 29, and Saturday, March 30, offers far more than just tasting the award-winning Isle of Wight Distillery’s Mermaid Gin.

The Gin Train package includes unlimited access to the Railway for the day and its many features; while, once you are on-board, you will be able to hear about the Distillery’s environmentally sustainable production methods and the history of Gin.

During the two-trip Gin Train experience each customer will be able to sample four different Gins with selected tonics and garnishes while being offered delicious canapes.

Afternoon Teas will be available on some of the railway’s services on both Sunday, March 31, and Monday, April 1. You can enjoy your Tea in style as the railway is serving them on its immaculately restored Pullman and Dining Car carriages.

And as an added bonus on both Good Friday and Easter Saturday, the railway will be running former Great Western Railway express locomotive ‘Pendennis Castle’ at the head of some passenger train services.

The 100-year-old locomotive used to head crack express trains from London to the West Country and South Wales. It had a spell operating in Australia, but it was repatriated to the UK in 2000 and has been superbly restored.

Full details of the Gin Train and Afternoon Tea fare packages are available on the railway’s web site: www.kwvr.co.uk

The Keighley & Worth Valley Railway will be running daily services throughout Easter until Monday, April 7.
