Get your sparkle on this Christmas with new NSPCC '˜Light For Every Childhood' awareness campaignf

The NSPCC has launched its new '˜Light For Every Childhood' Christmas appeal - to raise awareness of the nature and scale of neglect.

It is hoped the new campaign will help to highlight how one child in every ten suffers from this form of abuse. As part of the campaign the charity is also encouraging the public to get involved, with December being the month to ‘Get Your Sparkle On,’ and text to donate to the NSPCC.

The new fundraising initiative asks people to get all their friends and family together; dress-up in a glitzy outfit or decorate their face with eco-glitter and donate £3 to the NSPCC by texting SPARKLE to 70007.

To get involved you can sign-up via the NSPCC website where you will find all the tips and information you need to hold a festive sparkle party.

Madeleine Bowler, of the NSPCC’s Sparkle Squad, said: “Christmas is a time where we celebrate with our nearest and dearest, so we thought why not add some sparkle to your celebrations while at the same time supporting a great cause.”

In collaboration with ‘Get Your Sparkle On,’ TV personality Samantha Faiers has created a jumper for the charity, with 100 per cent of the profits going directly to the charity. The stylish Christmas jumper bears a gold glittery design emblazoned with ‘Sparkle On,’ and is available in two different colours, and sizes from extra small to xxx-large, and can be bought from the NSPCC online shop.

The funds raised for the charity’s ‘Light for Every Childhood’ Christmas Appeal will help the NSPCC keep children safe from abuse and neglect this Christmas, and all year round. The charity is being backed by a host of UK cities, with a number of landmarks turning NSPCC-green this Christmas, to show their support for this worthy campaign.
