Leeds United visit Portman Road this afternoon in search of their first league win of the 2023/24 campaign against unbeaten Ipswich Town.

The Whites are set to welcome Willy Gnonto and Luis Sinisterra back into the squad this weekend after the pair spent the past two weeks training individually due to off-field matters.

Manager Daniel Farke confirmed during his pre-match press conference on Thursday afternoon that he had spoken with the attacking pair and decided it was suitable for them to be reintegrated with the first-team group, despite outgoing transfer speculation and the submission of a transfer request in Gnonto’s case.

Opening day hero Crysencio Summerville also has an outside chance of being involved at Ipswich, while new signing and fellow Dutchman Joël Piroe could be named in Farke’s travelling squad, consequently bolstering Leeds’ attacking options by a marked degree.

Kick-off at Portman Road is at 3pm. Build-up, team news, live match coverage and post-match reaction here throughout the afternoon.

Ipswich Town vs Leeds United LIVE

HT: Ipswich 2-3 Leeds United

No defending, just vibes. In all seriousness, though, Leeds have been ruthless in attack but a bit questionable at the back. Making for a really entertaining game.

GOAL. Ipswich get one back 3-2

45’ Meslier not quick enough to a ball right at the edge of his penalty area, Jackson nicks it and gets to the byline. Cuts back for Broadhead closing in whilst French ‘keeper still in no man’s land. Seemed like a miscommunication with his defenders brought the chance about.

Look like scoring, a lot of goals...

45+4’ Sharp intake of breath from the home supporters whenever Leeds attack in number. Sinisterra, Piroe and Rutter already linking up really nicely. Gnonto then takes one down on the outside of his boot, gets overexcited and balloons it into the stand.

45’ Burns shoots from the right-hand side of Leeds’ penalty area after Ipswich work the ball to him quite impressively. Leeds need to keep tabs on Broadhead who keeps finding space to roam and pick up the ball between the lines.

45’ Into first half stoppages.

44’ Broadhead lets fly from the edge of Meslier’s box but shot runs past the post. Ipswich very much in this contest, despite Leeds’ two-goal advantage.

Getting joy down the sides

41’ Burns runs in behind Drameh, who recovers to make a fine challenge in the area. Leeds have complained to the lino on this side about missed offside calls on a number of occasions. Couldn’t tell on that one.

35’ Really slick play out from Leeds’ own half. Piroe chests down to Sinisterra, who switches to Gnonto. He feeds Ayling nicely and following a couple of crosses, it’s worked back to Ayling whose shot is charged down inside the penalty area.
