The select band are members of the club’s Hall of Fame and four more will be inducted at a special ceremony on Sunday. A celebration lunch at AMT Headingley Stadium will also mark the 20th anniversary of Leeds’ first Super League triumph and a decade since their Wembley Challenge Cup final win against Castleford Tigers.
To be eligible for the Hall of Fame, individuals must have played at least 150 games for Leeds, made an ‘exceptional contribution’ to rugby in the city and achieved representative honours during their playing career. Here’s a full list of the 28 current members, in the order they were inducted.
19. Don Robinson (1956-64)
World Cup winner in 1954, he played in the 1957 Challenge Cup final with a broken wrist - scoring the winning try - and his 296 appearances included the 1961 Championship final triumph, making him the first Leeds player to do the double.Photo: YPN
20. Kevin Sinfield MBE OBE CBE (1997-2015)
The club’s - and arguably rugby league’s - greatest captain; a seven-time Grand Final winner, he holds Rhinos’ records for most goals and points and is third on the appearance list. And that was before he became nationally-famous through his work to raise funds and awarness for the motor neurone disease community.Photo: Steve Riding
21. Stan Satterthwaite (1928-46)
Made 332 appearances for Leeds during one of their great eras.Photo: Leeds Rhinos
22. Mick Shoebottom (1962-71)
One of the most naturally talented players ever to feature for Leeds, he was an Ashes winner in 1970, but a head injury ended a glittering career the following year.Photo: YPN
23. Bob Haigh (1970-76)
Scored 40 tries - then a world record for a forward - in the 1970-71 season. Made 167 appearances in total for Leeds.Photo: YPN
24. Jamie Peacock (Steve).jpg
Arguably Leeds' greatest signing from another rugby league club; took the team forward through 289 appearances and won six Grand Finals in blue and amber.Photo: Jamie Peacock MBE (2006-15)
